This policy covers the private Home Assistant instance described on the home page. It is operated by one household for that household. There are no other users and no visitors.
With your permission, the application reads calendar events from the Google account you sign in with, using Google's Calendar API. It reads event titles, times, locations and descriptions so they can be displayed. If you grant write access, it may also create or change events on a calendar you have chosen.
Calendar data is requested by the Home Assistant server running on hardware in our home and is displayed on screens in that home. It is not sent to any third party, not shared, not sold, and not used for advertising, analytics, profiling or training any model.
Home Assistant stores an OAuth access and refresh token locally so it can keep reading the calendar without asking you to sign in again. Recently fetched events are cached locally so the display keeps working during a network outage. Both live only on that machine.
Remove the application at myaccount.google.com/permissions at any time. Access stops immediately. Deleting the integration inside Home Assistant deletes the stored tokens and cached events.
Cached events are overwritten on each refresh and are not archived. Tokens are kept until the integration is removed or you revoke access.
The screens show a family calendar that includes children's schedules, entered by their parents. No data is collected from children, and the application is not directed at anyone outside this household.
